A Pro-Choice Advocate Speaks Out On The Social Injustice

We've all heard about, seen, or engaged in the infamous Pro-Life/Pro-Choice debate, especially since the nominees for the 2016 Presidential Election took the nomination. Liberals being more Pro-Choice, and conservatives Pro-Life. This debate being the biggest highlight of our nation.

Abortion, since the first known history of abortions around the year 1550 BC, it has been frowned upon due to the notion that women are opening up their legs so easily, and getting one to avoid responsibility, and are considered murdering their unborn children. Even in today's society, women are harassed, shunned, and humiliated just by stepping into a Planned Parenthood.

The pregnant mother's life could potentially be dangerous, and she wants to keep that child, but would have a high risk of death due to a ectopic pregnancy, or whatever the case may be. Pro-lifers don't care until that baby is born. Medical professionals could tell the pregnant mother that the fetus could be missing the left part of it's brain, and has a low chance for survival, which will result in death within days of being born, but as long as the child is birthed, then it's fine.

This is what is defined as "Pro-Birth" instead of Pro-Life. As long as the baby is born, then everything is good, right?

Wrong. The purpose of being pro-choice is that every woman has the right to make the decisions off her beliefs, health, and wellbeing. A common misconception is that women who have abortions are "evil", "irresponsible", and "wicked", and the doctors performing the said procedure are "crooked."

I spoke with a woman recently who said there was no justifying the murder of an "innocent child" since the fetus couldn't say no, that it was murder. I then brought to her attention that there are women subjected to sexual assault, rape, incest, sex trafficking, and many other life threatening ways to become pregnant, and she said there was still no excuse to terminate the life of the clump of cells growing within her uterus. According to her, the woman should just accept responsibility and accept the consequences.

"Screw Women's Rights!" she then went on to say, all because I mentioned that, thankfully, women have the right to have a safe, and legal abortion with no questions asked up to 24 weeks.

What is more upsetting, is there are people out there in the world, most notably the Donald, who think late term abortion happens so easily, with no lasting impact, especially in the ninth month.

Late term abortion only exists upon the issue of life or death situations of the mother, or the the death of a child. If there is a chance that the child will not survive birth, or wont survive after birth, why subject it to being miserable for its tiny life? Why bring that child in this cruel world just to die?

To those who are pro-life, while I cannot make you deter away from your beliefs, all I can ask from the group is to please stop harassing America's young women and girls for having a safely executed abortion. Please stop trying to fear monger young girls to believe that the consequences for sex is a baby. Don't force 15 year olds to become potential single mothers. Don't make girls keep a pregnancy they don't want thus making them drop out of school. Protect our girls, and women, because one day, your wife, daughter, niece, mother, sister, et cetera may need a life saving procedure, and you shunned them away for being a "murderer."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
