On Thursday, April 21, 2016, Prince Rodgers Nelson died at the young age of 57. Fans around the world are struck by grief with the death of this great musical legend. Growing up, my mom would always play Prince songs and I would love to dance and sing along to his funky R&B pop songs. I want to highlight some of Prince's greatest achievements with a list of his number one hits.
1. "When Doves Cry"
This catchy song always has people singing along and it easily gets stuck in your head. "When Doves Cry" is listed as Prince's number one hit on Billboard.
2. "Kiss"
"Kiss" was one of my favorites growing up. I loved dancing and making the kissing noises right before saying "kiss."
3. "Raspberry Beret"
"Raspberry Beret"is just one of those really cute love songs that you can help but smile when you hear it.
4. "Purple Rain"
One of Prince's slow jam love songs that makes you want to be in the crowd swaying with a lighter in your hand.
5. "1999"
Lastly, one of my all time favorites that almost everyone knows. "1999" is a classic that gets everyone up on their feet dancing.
RIP to the amazing music legend, Prince.
