The article I wrote last week touched upon the proposition that humans are close enough to animals to properly represent them as spirit animals
. Some examples I gave were ones such as the Lion, the Crow, etc., but my reason for writing it was to touch on spiritualism versus actual info on animals. But today, rather than talk about an idea worth meditating on, I decided to talk about the subject of my six page English paper: the Jaguar. Due to all the research I had to do, there's no reason for me not to bring attention to an issue that not many people seem to know about. The Brazilian rain forest is constantly being destroyed at an exorbitant rate. In fact, we lose eighty thousand acres every single day. If you have any idea how large an acre is, that should disturb you. I'm not what you would call a "tree-hugger", but I'm also not a brain dead idiot. I enjoy being able to breathe and think that everyone deserves that right, but unfortunately we'll probably all be dead due to unending greed. I'm not calling for a revolution here (though I may in the near future), but it's what we need. Whether the people pulling the strings and pushing the cogs of the machine we all exist to realize the errors of their ways and stop the evil they commit. But, besides the issue of losing our good plant friends that make the air breathable for us, those trees are also the companions of millions of animals who now have nowhere to live, one of these being the Jaguar.
The word Jaguar is synonymous with luxury and upper-class taste, apparent by the well engineered car brand. Many people with expensive, exotic taste's also keep Jaguars as pets, which is pretty damn cool. Jaguars are the cats with the highest balance of grace and power, being able to climb trees, run at speeds of up to 60 mph, swim in the powerful rivers of the Amazon jungle, and all this while sporting the most powerful bite of any cat to crush the skull of any animal unfortunate enough to fall prey, and yet a full grown male is in my weight range (I'm 160 lbs.). This is quite the apex predator, one that I wouldn't mind having as my spirit animal (though I have no control over that), but despite this, our toxic human behavior continues to damage such an elegant beast to the point of soon being threatened.
I hope that my small knowledge of this beautiful animal, along with all of the other gorgeous animals of the rain forest, can bring awareness to this subject matter, a gravely urgent one that is still denied by those profiting from their deplorable deeds. Everyone will pay the price for the elite being assholes, but what the price is can't be seen at this point in time, though we can assume it'll be horrendous and will mostly be the the end of the reign of the human race. Global warming is a thing and it will have a nightmarish impact on life as we understand it. Even if you don't care about nature, understand the damage we are causing.
