If you're someone with an interest in current events and has access to the internet, then you've heard of DACA. However, you might not know exactly what DACA is, or why it even matters in the first place.

DACA, which stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, was created in 2012 by former President Barack Obama. It was Obamas attempt to stop the deportation of children who were brought to the United States as children but were still in danger of deportation due to the fact that their parents immigrated unlawfully.

Although the program does not act as a direct pathway towards U.S. citizenship, it does give them an allowance of two years residency in the U.S. until they receive their citizenship. The program allows them to receive many benefits which include work permits and health insurance. In addition, it gives many individuals the benefit of receiving a college education where they are eligible for in-state tuition.

These individuals who are able to partake in this program are called The Dreamers. This program is not eligible for criminals or felons; only those with a high school diploma or an equivalent G.E.D.

Although DACA was beneficial to a countless number of individuals, President Trump held an unshakeable opinion about the act due to his views on immigration and ultimately, with the push of many state attorneys, decided to terminate the program.

President Trump, however, has given the Dreamers another alternative to this issue. He is willing to help the Dreamers reach U.S. citizenship, just so long as they provide the funding to build his wall between Mexico and the U.S.

If that isn't enough, President Trump has given Congress a deadline of March 5th to figure out a solution before the Dreamers are deported.

Although Congress is working towards coming up with a solution in the wake of the looming March 5th deadline, President Trump is busy tweeting his fascinating opinions.

President Trump Tweeted on February 5th:

“Any deal on DACA that does not include STRONG border security and the desperately needed WALL is a total waste of time. March 5th is rapidly approaching and the Dems seem not to care about DACA. Make a deal!”

President Trump is attempting to veil the Democrats in office as lazy and indifferent to the many lives at stake. Rather than trying to actively come to an agreement with Democrats, President Trump and his conservative party have been consistently rejecting every bipartisan deal the Democrats have provided.

Rather than focus on the lives that could be ruined on March 5th, President Trump is busy tweeting in an attempt to win the admiration of the public with his "witty humor."

President Trump has consistently rejected bipartisan deals to reform DACA from Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Chris Coons (D-Del.), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), and, finally, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

However, the President is still standing firm in his belief that the Democrats are the ones who "don't care about the Dreamers" because they have "yet to come up with a deal."

President Trump is not one who seems to understand policy details or the urgent matter at hand: The future of many lives is at stake. There seems to be a clear division here: the Democrats want safety and security for the Dreamers, which they are entitled too, while the Republicans seem to only want increased border control and an irrelevant and tax depleting wall.

Maybe President Trump should learn to take his own advice and "make a deal."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
