Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for our many blessings. It is easy to get caught up in this mess called life, where studying, work and extra curricular activities make up our daily routines. We often complain about everything we have to do and forget about all of the things we instead get to do. I pray that you will change our attitudes and help us realize how blessed we actually are.

Thank you for blessing us with the opportunity to further our education at this beautiful campus in the North Georgia mountains. Thank you for the moments when we walk by the gold steeple while the sun is setting and we are reminded everything will be okay. Thanks for the times class gets out early and we have a few minutes to sit on the drill field and soak in the sun while regaining our sanity. Thank you for all of the helpful professors and staff members for all that they do for us (sometimes we can get grumpy, but they are always willing to help in any way they can). And last but not least, thank you for all of the friendships we have made over the past few years here at school. I pray that you will bless each and every individual we have met along the way and give them peace as we go into our last two weeks of the spring semester.

This time of the year is very stressful for college students, and I pray that you will help remind us of what is truly important-leading others to YOU. Let our actions represent you and help others see your glory and blessings through each of us. I pray that our hearts remain pure and full of your love and that we are able to lift each other up during this time of exams, projects, and presentations. I pray that you will help us manage our time wisely and help us get a good night's sleep every night.

I pray that you will keep us all safe on our commutes to and from school and that you will protect our families as they travel into town to help us move out and to watch the seniors graduate. I pray that you will touch each student's heart and help us make the right choice as we start looking at internships, future careers, and new places to live. I would also like to thank you in advance for all of the blessings you have prepared for us that are still to come. I pray that we remember to keep you at the center of our plans in whatever we do after college.

Lastly, I would like to thank you for all of the memories UNG and the Dahlonega community have given us. From freshman move in day, Frog Week, our first Fall Jam, Gold Rush, snow day, hike to Preacher's Rock and intramural sports game--we've done it all. Our time here would not be the same without hanging a dollar up in Shenanigan's, eating on the patio at Pueblo's, grabbing a coffee or piece of cake from Picnic Cafe, fudge from the Fudge Factory or an ice cream from Connie's. May we always be thankful for Mama's Taxi and Foothill's breakfast.

I ask that we always remember these years and the wonderful people we have met. I pray we are able to make more memories in the short few weeks before we graduate or leave for the summer and that the incoming freshmen are able to enjoy their time here as much as we have enjoyed ours.

We love you, Lord and are very thankful for this place we have been blessed to call "home."

Amen.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
