A Power Ranking Of The Best Places To Nap At UTA

A Power Ranking Of The Best Places To Nap At UTA

I love to nap. You love to nap. Everyone loves to nap. Here are the best places to nap at UTA:

1. The Library

The library at UTA is the most underrated place on campus. Students at UTA practically act like it does not exist until finals week. That being said, the library any week expect finals week is the best location to nap on campus. Want dead silence? No problem, the UTA library has not one, but two completely silent "studying" floors that are perfect for napping. The library is the perfect place for napping, and you sound super scholarly when you tell your parents you spent three hours in the library (leave out the napping part).

2. The Second Floor of the UC

The UC is a pretty busy place on campus. There are always bake sales and other exciting events happening in or around the UC. However, the second floor of the UC is a hidden treasure at UTA. The second floor of the UC is made up of couches on couches on couches. The only con of the second floor of the UC is that the noise from the first floor can travel up and make the second floor a bit noisy, but a pair of headphones and a comfy couch can make it all worth the noise.

3. The Book Store

The book store at UTA ranks the third best place to nap on campus. The bookstore is crazy busy the first and last week of the semester. However, the bookstore is a deserted wasteland full of crazy expensive textbooks no one cares about. Bring a pillow and a blanket in the bookstore and curl up in an aisle and nap away peacefully, I promise you no one will notice you.

4. The New Career Development Center

The new Career Development Center is a wild card. The word "new" indicates that there is a 70% chance there might be new couches in the building. The words "career development center" suggest that there is a 80% chance that there is some sort of academic activities going on in the building. I would recommend this option during finals week or the first three weeks of classes.

5. Maverick Stadium

The stadium is an excellent location for napping. UTA does not have a football team and sports are only out there every once and awhile for conditioning. The bleachers are literally always empty, so if sleeping on hard metal is your cup of tea, Maverick Stadium might be your new favorite place on campus.

6. Your Advisors Office

Do you remember that person you are forced to meet with twice a year? Believe it or not, they actually have an office that isn't just open when you are trying to register for classes. Show up and tell them you need a place to nap. They will not mind at all. They will look busy and avoid having to do actually advising.

7. The Empty Greek Lot

Greek Row has a giant empty lot. There are no plans (as of now ) to do anything with the lot, so it makes a stellar place to taking a ten minute nap in-between classes. Make sure to bring a blanket, the grass is not the best quality.

Sweet dreams, UTA students!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
