Power In Weaknesses

2 Corinthians 12:9- "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

To begin with, I was watching Sadie Robertson's YouTube channel and she said something that stuck out to me. She was talking about how our weaknesses are made perfect in God. So, that led me into searching for the verse, well I found it, it didn't take long for all these thoughts to just come pouring out. I first posted them on Facebook and figured this would be a great article opportunity. I just want myself and others to feel great about the person they are. We shouldn't look down upon our weakness because God's power is made perfect in them.

2 Corinthians 12:9- "But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

I was born with cleft palate and a rare liver disorder (MCAD) though we didn't find out til I was 15 months old. Because of my cleft palate, I've had speech problems and an undeveloped jaw which is leading to jaw surgery. I've had 2 cleft repairs. Also because of the mcad and not knowing, when I got a virus I became extremely sick and ended up in a coma for almost a week. I've had a double hernia repair. I have slight ear loss and have had tubes put in my ears multiple times. I even need glasses/contacts to see far away. Some of these have caused people to make fun of me and mock me. Those people showed me how I never want to be to others and how I never want to make someone feel.

These could be seen as a weakness but because of God, I'm able to see them as ways to boast about Him because He brought me through them. He even brought me through a wreck with just a sprained thumb and a few scratches.

To me, I love my weaknesses because they're who I am, they're my story and no one has one like it. My weaknesses aren't weaknesses they are motivators, they have taught me strength and perseverance. Never give up no matter how hard the fight because God is always right behind pushing you one step closer. Because of Him, our weaknesses aren't just something we have to deal with, they are perfect because they show His mighty work!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
