The week we've all been looking forward to is over. We have no breaks left until we get out of school. What are we supposed to do now? Well, honestly, at first I really had no idea… all I really wanted to do was cry, but also be happy at the same time. We have four more weeks of school and then we can finally enjoy three full months of summer. But these these next four weeks will either make us or break us. Finals are the most stressful thing you can put a college student through… So how do we survive them?
Well first, don't panic. I know it's the last couple of weeks to pull our grades up, but panicking will just make it worse. For most of us, these last weeks are crucial. They decide whether you spend your summer by the pool or in a classroom retaking the one class that killed your GPA. So panicking should never be an option. Take a chill pill and relax. You can pull up those grades! We're college students, remember? We can do anything because we're awesome.
Second, just breathe. It's the last four weeks to spend with some of your friends before everyone goes off to their hometown. You only have so much time, especially if you're a senior. So enjoy it. And if you're only a freshman, well you still need to enjoy. You're about to be separated from your new best friends and it sucks… trust me. But you still should enjoy every second, because ultimately you deserve it! You've made it through the school year and you just might have to treat yourself with a night out with your besties.
Third, get on track. Yes, you need to make it through the rest of the school year, but you need to start thinking ahead. Start thinking about what you could do over the summer to make you even more successful. Start thinking about how you can get ahead so the next year may not be as stressful as the last. We're college students… we can do anything if we put our mind to it. I know this is probably the last thing on your mind, but it definitely doesn't hurt to just think about it!
You might be feeling the post-spring break blues right about now, but just keep thinking that summer is only a couple weeks away. Remember the three things I told you to do and I promise the end of your year will be golden.
