While some people actually watch the Super Bowl for the sports aspect, it is pretty unanimous that most people are watching for the commercials. The fact that this year was Super Bowl 50, commercials held a little more importance. Here are a few that stood out...
One funny one, by Avocados from Mexico, was called "Avocados in Space." While touring a museum filled with items from Earth in outer space, a group of aliens discover the beauty of avocados.
Axe arguable always has some of the funniest and most unique commercials, regardless of if they're for the Super Bowl or not. This Super Bowl, their commercial "Find Your Magic" encouraged men to embrace what makes them different, such as being obsessed with cats.
Budweiser, often known for their witty and humorous commercials, took a more serious side by having actress Helen Mirren discuss drunk driving while drinking a classic Bud. But Bud Light held up the funny side with a commercial featuring Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen attempting to unite America with beer.
Another clever commercial was conducted by Heinz. A bunch of dachshund wiener dogs dressed in hot dog suits chased after people dressed up as various bottles of Heinz condiments.
Car commercials are often prominent, but Hyundai apparently really wanted to make their presence known by releasing three commercials to be aired during the game. One, called "The Chase," showcased the new Hyundai Elantra's remote start by having it save two people being chased by talking bears. Second, to highlight the Hyundai Genesis' feature car finder, Kevin Hart plays a dad who goes to extremes when his daughter goes on a date. Last, in Hyundai's commercial entitled "Ryanville," two women are continually distracted while driving because every person they see is Ryan Reynolds. While driving through a small town, two women are distracted by the fact that every single person they see is movie star Ryan Reynolds.
Sure, the game is good and exciting but sometimes the commercials really take the cake in forms of entertainment and creativity.
