Pope Francis, meet Baby Pope

Pope Francis Met His Match and It Was Adorable

This September, Pope Francis made history as only the fourth pope in history to visit the United States when he voyaged from his humble abode in Vatican City to Washington D.C., New York and Philadelphia. But Pope Francis is no stranger to making history.

Like how he’s the first non-European pope in 1,200 years…and the first from the Americas.

Or how he’s the first pope to pick Francis of Assisi—patron saint of the poor—as his namesake.

Or how he’s actually so cute when he does a thumbs-up.

But believe it or not, Pope Francis met his match during his stay in Philadelphia. There was one (little) human that could steal his papal thunder. Her name is Quinn—but you can also call her Baby Pope.

At the Pope’s Saturday parade in Philadelphia, Quinn arrived in her very best papal gear to greet Pope Francis. Suffice to say, Pope Francis appreciated the gesture so much that he stopped his popemobile right there. He gave his papal doppelganger a kiss on the head and a nice ~blessin~. Because who doesn’t want to get blessed by the Pope?

Although Baby Pope temporarily stole the show, Pope Francis had plenty of memorable moments during his U.S. tour. In his moving speech on the White House lawn, he addressed global issues such as climate change, immigration and poverty.

When it comes to the care of our “common home,” we are living at a critical moment of history. We still have time to make the changes needed to bring about a sustainable and integral development, for we know that things can change.”

In his address to Congress, he called for unity in the face of global adversity ranging from environmental problems to human rights. He was also the first pope to address a joint meeting of congress—a pretty big deal.

“A nation can be considered great when it defends liberty as Lincoln did, when it fosters a culture which enables people to dream of full rights for all their brothers and sisters as Martin Luther King sought to do…”

So beyond inspiring the latest baby costumes, Pope Francis does some other cool stuff too. Baby Pope would approve.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
