Winnie the pooh is not just for kids

We all loved Pooh Bear and the other friends of the Hundred Acre Woods when we were little. They were there for us through the good and the bad, they became our friends. Well fortunately, just because you grew up doesn't mean that the friendship has to end. Between all of the Winnie the Pooh movies and books there are some valuable lessons to be learned which you may have never even known were there. A.A. Milne has given us beautiful words of wisdom to live by and if nothing else, they make for a great Instagram caption!

"Some people care too much. I think it's called love."

Giphy

“‘When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,’ said Piglet at last, ‘What’s the first thing you say to yourself?’ ‘What’s for breakfast?’ said Pooh. ‘What do you say, Piglet?’ ‘I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?’ said Piglet. Pooh nodded thoughtfully. ‘It’s the same thing,’ he said.”

“If the person you are talking to doesn’t appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”

“Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.”

Giphy

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

“You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.”

“The things that make me different are the things that make me.”

Giphy

“People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.”

“I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart for so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams, we can be together all the time.”

“Love is taking a few steps backward, maybe even more…to give way to the happiness of the person you love.”

Giphy

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

“Sometimes the smallest things take the most room in your heart.”

“Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon.”

“A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.”

Giphy

“A day spent with you is my favorite day. So today is my new favorite day.”

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
