Pokemon Go was the much anticipated, interactive mobile game released by The Pokemon Company and Niantic. Fans of the original games and the series were ecstatic for a game that brought the original 151 Pokemon in such in an inventive way. The official release date for the games was July 6, 2016 (in Australia and United States, while Europe didn't have access to the game until July 13, 2016).
The main concept of the game is to be the very best like no one ever was. You can accomplish this goal by capturing, training and battling the different Pokemon in the game. The player of the game must walk, run or even drive (which is very frowned upon) to capture the Pokemon. You can also receive Pokemon from hatching eggs that you receive from Pokestops. Pokestops also allow you to get more Pokeballs, potions, super potions, Razz Berries, revives and incubators. All of these things will help you in your journey to be the very best. But don't forget about joining a team. The three teams in Pokemon Go are Mystic (Blue), Valor (Red) and Instinct (Yellow).
But this is not a drill when I say Pokemon Go will take over the world.
Within its week of being release in the United States, Pokemon Go has had some good and bad effects on the lives of its players.
This picture has been floating around different forms of social media. But believe it or not, this might actually be the case. More gamers, fans of Pokemon, and many others have been joining the craze of hunting Pokemon. Pokemon Go is encouraging the players to get up and get out, because that's the only way you can capture the ones you want/need.
Though people are increasingly becoming more active because of this game, they aren't following the first rule of the game. When you turn the game on, "Remember to be alert at all times. Stay aware of your surroundings" appears on the screen. There have been stories also circulating that players have been walking into traffic, and stopping on the high way and causing accidents. People have been trespassing on to other people's property because they wanted to catch certain Pokemon. Buzzfeed and CNN were both reported to share an article of a young woman Pokemon hunting and finding a dead body.
The reality is that Pokemon Go is indeed taking over other people's lives.
People are going crazy over the thought of being able to capture/evolve to have all 151 original Pokemon.
But make sure you have the right team for your area, because people are getting angry and actually fighting over which team is better.
Pokemon Go has the potential to be so much better too! The buzz for the game just keeps getting bigger. It is controlling people and how they go about their day, making sure they hit the Pokestops in their daily travels and always watching what Pokemon are around. It will only get bigger from here. But really, who knows what the future holds for Pokemon Go and its players?
As a Pokemon fan and a full supporter of the game, I encourage people to just embrace the game and have fun playing it. As the theme song states, "You teach me and I'll teach you, Pokemon." Don't be afraid to help others, because they can help you too.
So hopefully the game and the servers stay working enough to get on, out there and play! Make sure to follow rule number one and stay aware of your surroundings! Have fun and play with friends!
