My Thoughts On Pokémon Go

The app that is taking over the world one Pokémon at a time!

Alright, I'll admit at first I thought Pokémon Go was dumb, and I decided to pass judgement to not even try it out. This lasted for about three days until I gave in and decided to see what all the fuss was about. At this point, I had no idea what the app was besides the fact it was taking over the world. I also had no idea what I was getting into.

I openly confess that I am a Pokémon Go addict. No, I do not need help. The thing is that when you get Pokémon Go you get how amazing it is and you truly understand what all the fuss is about. I know what you’re thinking if you don’t have Pokémon Go, “Oh my God, this girl is crazy.” And if you do have Pokémon Go you’re thinking, “Welcome my sister, welcome.”

Now compared to all those I know, I am still a youngin’ in the game, but there is truly something special about this game that I have never seen before. I mean this game gets people of all shapes and sizes walking, biking, and driving under 10 miles per hour in your car all to catch Pokémon.

People have asked me, alright so you’re catching Pokémon, why? You catch Pokémon to battle them in gyms. Why do you battle them? To win. What do you win? Stuff, I don’t know, but it’s awesome and amazing and you can just stop, OK? You don’t understand because you don’t have it, and I swear once you get it you’ll love it and you’ll get it! I promise you, and not only that you’ll be in such a warm welcoming committee of people. I’ve learned through walking through the street people will stop and ask you if you’ve found any Pokémon and what team you’re on (I’m blue team! Go mystics!).

You don't know how much crap I've gotten from staring at my phone all day. Not only do I get made fun of for constantly asking if anyone has a portable charger due to the fact the app eats my battery, but I also seem to be constantly throwing fits after the game glitches right as I find a rare pokémon. The amount of times I say, "It's just a game" to myself to try and calm down is so immense I would say some crazy number to get my point across, yet I still feel like it's not enough.

To all the Pokémon players out there! Hello and welcome! You are not crazy for loving this game and don't let people tell you, you are. You are out there getting exercise; that can always be your excuse to keep playing. Remember, you should invest in a portable charger. Go out and catch them all!

To all the Pokémon haters/people who refuse to give Pokémon Go a chance; give it a chance.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
