I sit silently,

Listening to the pattering of the rain,

Scoffing at the Georgia weather.

Pulling my knees to my chest—

Sleep.

The clock I've never even used—

as I stare in front of me.


It's been so long since—

I wonder if I should stretch my—

The thunder in my head,

is nothing compared,

To the thunder overcast—

Sleep.

Has my counselor uploaded my grades?

Sleep.

Did I turn in my essay?

Sleep.


I look back down,

my books lay wide open,

I try reading the words,

But I've entered a spiraling hole of—

Sleep.

All I want is Sleep.

I scoff at myself again,

and stretch out my leg.

I'm fine.

I pull my book onto my lap,

and begin to type on my lapto—
