Poetry On Odyssey: The Night I Fell In Love

Love is the most powerful force that I know. It can move the mountains, part oceans, and inspire earthshaking change.

I have lived too much of my life not loving myself. The night I learned to love myself was the night I truly began living.

The night that I fell in love with myself

was not intentional.

I danced. alone. barefoot, in dim lighting

The night that I fell in love with myself

was slow and sensual.

no other eyes. only mine. admiring,

this woman so sublime.

The night that I fell in love with myself

was my own miracle.

for too long, I lived blind and insecure.

how could I not see me?

That night that I fell in love with myself

is unforgettable.

I saw who I was and I gladly stepped

onto my pedestal.
