Poetry On Odyssey: Love Blind

He smiles and shakes his head at my alarm.

My mouth drops open once more - wider this time.

For a moment she felt blinded.

Seemingly endless, flat, featureless whiteness,

stretched out before her.

This was it.

The sun was beginning to set,

allowing the sky to retain some of its illumination.

The light is fading.

His eyes darken and heat at once.

But he gazes down at me, his eyes soften.

I love you.
