Please Don't Judge My Bikini Style, From A Girl Trying To Love Her Body

Please Don't Judge My Bikini Style, From A Girl Trying To Love Her Body

Summer is on its way, which means bathing suit season. This is my favorite time of year but also one of the hardest, at least on myself. I am pretty curvy, I have a more mature body than a lot of 17-year-olds — totally not bashing others. So it can be pretty hard to find a bikini that makes me feel amazing, and often times when I find one that does it shows a LOT of boob/butt. I usually have to choose between not feeling my best or worrying about being looked at as showing too much. Therefore, I'm starting off this summer with a new approach.

I am going to wear bikinis that make me feel like a million bucks and if you have a problem with that then keep it to yourself. I have dealt with so many issues with my body and I finally feel confident, so you don't get to ruin this newfound confidence with a comment. I have worked so hard to be in this position, you will not change me.

It has taken a while for me to be able to think like this, and I am proud of myself but I also feel for other girls who are like me but feel insecure or self-conscious like I used to be. Of course some days I'm not feeling completely confident but that's OK. I wish everyone could see how much love they deserve, which is something I am determined to help others with. I hope with this open letter that someone will go buy the bikini that they've tried on so many times they know exactly where it is in the store and wear it with so much confidence. Sadly though, a lot of girls won't feel that way because of today's society.

We need to band together and hype each other up, because everyone deserves to kill it every day. There is so much negativity in this world and having this negative energy towards what you wear on the beach shouldn't be as big of an issue as it is. This needs to be fixed, and I truly think we can accomplish so.

I hope everyone has an amazing summer and is comfortable in their own skin on the beach, and honestly wherever you go this season. I know I will be trying my hardest to inspire people to do so and I hope you can do the same.

We can all be better and if we do this than the world will be so much more positive and welcoming to those who really need it.

So wear the bikini that makes you happy and don't worry about what others think, and have a great summer with your people, I know I will!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
