A short review on the Playstation VR

Well, Wednesday night marked the midnight release of the PlayStation VR.

I joined my friend at Best Buy in line, he was getting it, not me. But since he was there for awhile my boyfriend and I decided to join him in line for the last few hours.

The doors opened, games were grabbed, then we head back to try it out.

There are bits and pieces to put together, but it took no longer than 30 minutes to put together and calibrate. The only thing I do warn is that the move motion controllers do not come charged, but they do come with USB cords to charge! Luckily most of them demos and PSVR in game games don't need them, sometimes all you need is your controller or your headset. On the topic of the headset: it is comfortable and easy to adjust.

Now, the game I tested out was one where you didn't need a controller. This game was just a visual look around, but a dream for those who love the ocean and the deep sea. But if you don't like sharks...this may not be the game for you.

The Deep is beautiful. It feels like you really are going down and looking at the ocean in depths where you see jellyfish surround you, fish swim by you, you can look all around you seeing reefs with what looks like even deeper areas. It is astoundingly beautiful. Even off screen, it was beautiful and you got pulled in by the visuals. My boyfriend was supposed to take photos of me while playing, but even he got pulled into it all and forgot to.

The shark wasn't scary, to me at least. But overall I did flinch a few times because it looked like it was coming for you. It was amazing.

While playing I forgot where I was at times, I would reach out, then forget that I wasn't actually there, that my hands meant nothing in that game, specifically versus other games where there are hand options.

Technology is amazing, this system is a real game changer. I personally would recommend it, just because it is a neat toy. A little expensive for me, but still worth it if you want to experience gaming like you never have before.

If you wish to see and have a taste of what The Deep is like, watch this video here!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
