The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is coming to an end. Luckily, the only thing we have to look forward to is the bitter cold. If that’s not enough for you, then close your eyes and place your finger on one of the list items below. An adventure is calling your name.
Learn something new.
The winter allows for some time spent indoors. Take this time to learn a new skill or hobby. Maybe you have wanted to learn how to play an instrument or even pick up a new language. There are apps and tools to help you learn anything. Get to downloading!
Volunteer.
Beat those winter blues by spreading warmth and giving back to your community. Find a cause you believe in and give some of your time to a shelter, school, or a hospital. The small amount of time you give can make such a difference in someone's day and you’ll feel it too.
Concerts, concerts, and more concerts.
The summertime is great for outdoor music and festivals, but the winter is great for indoor venues and working up a sweat in the crowd. Find a couple of new bands while you're at it and go see them live.
Six Flags.
As you may or may not know, Six Flags has extended their season and will be open until early January. Get outside while you can! Feel the thrill of a roller coaster in the wintry chill and then warm up with a hot chocolate.
Create.
Even if you don’t consider yourself to be artistic or handy, creativity is something that we can all find within ourselves. Considering the fact that you will be spending some time indoors take this opportunity to let your creative side roam. You can write a poem or paint a picture for a friend.
Explore with AirBnB.
Take a trip! Go far or stay local. Airbnb is a website for people to list, find, and rent lodging. According to their results, they have over 1,500,000 listings in 34,000 cities and 190 countries. You get the feeling of being at home while also discovering some place new. Prices are affordable but range depending on where you are staying and how long your trip will be.
Build an igloo.
If you are lucky (or not so lucky) enough to be in an area where there will be snow, then take advantage of the cold and build something warm for yourself. Along with the usual activities like building a snowman or having a snowball fight, building an igloo offers a warm space to enjoy the frigid weather. It does take some time, but if you have a good group of people you can get it done.
Revamp your space.
Spring cleaning is best known for clearing out clutter and re-organizing, but if you feel like welcoming change early then get started now! Clear out any unnecessary items that you might have and move some furniture around. You’ll feel a sense of accomplishment and changing something so simple can make such a difference.
Some of these items are good for any time during the year, but this is just to get the ideas flowing. If you have any other ideas, then feel free to add to the list!
