Welcome to Bay Area Travel! This is your place for ideas on short day trips or weekend trips accompanied by my original pictures.
Hello, my fellow San Francisco State University students! I know that many of you are from a variety of places, and sometimes being in San Francisco can be stressful. So, as a Bay Area baby, I'd like to share with you some really beautiful places in and around the Bay Area.
The first location I want to share, and a personal favorite of mine, is Mount Diablo.
Located in Concord, CA (roughly an hour-and-a-half drive), Mt. Diablo offers numerous hiking trails and beautiful views of the Bay. My favorite part of the mountain is the old light house-looking building at the very top.
However, to see the building, I would advise driving, because the building is at the very top and the mountain has an elevation of 3,848 feet. Even so, it's definitely a view you would not want to miss. You can find more information about Mount Diablo here.
Now, another personal favorite of mine goes out to all those beach lovers who are ready for summer.
Point Reyes is a national seashore, located about two hours northwest from Daly City. However, before we arrived to the main seashore, I stumbled along a small beach. Drake Beach is very similar to a cove, and it's definitely a place I would advise stopping at for a quick break. It doesn't get too overcrowded, and it's a lovely place to take nice pictures. If you are unable to find Drake Beach, it's OK! There are numerous other beaches to see as well before hitting Point Reyes.
When I arrived to Point Reyes, I didn't go to the main seashore because I spent a lot of my time at Drake Beach. But I was still able to take a nice, mini hike along the road. Once you get to the top, there is a lovely cliff view.
It's an ideal location to get away from the summer heat and the crazy crowds. Click here for more information on Point Reyes.
Well, that's all for this week! Thank you for taking the time to visit Bay Area Travel. I plan to post three locations every other week, so I hope to see you all then! Have a great week.
