There is a camp church song called Pierce My Ear and the song represents being a servant to God by allowing him to pierce our ear. When piercing the ear in today's society we often think about earrings and other rings that will show the piercing however that is not the case with God. For you do not need earrings to serve the Father who gave up his son for his children out of love; and the same children are the ones who pierced the Son right through the heart by piercing his sides and hands while on that cross.
We should let Christ pierce our ear to be a servant of his as his heart was pierced right through the heart from the world today. God's word is also so powerful that it should also pierce our own hearts as we spend the time in his word and having that pierced heart can represent being a servant to God.
Exodus 21:6 (KJV) Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him forever.
