Philadelphia: The Best City In The World

No one likes us, we don't care.

I grew up in Pennsylvania, which when you think about it, is a very lackluster state from the outside. I know a lot of people see us as just a bunch of corn fields and the Amish.

And they know Pennsylvania for Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is one of the most historic cities in history. No matter where you go in Philadelphia, you'll see a historic monument and maybe even walk past a few not knowing. Some famous ones are Martha Washington's house, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and many other things that have such importance in history.

However, the history is a small reason why Philadelphia is so great. When asking people why they love this city, you'll find out a variety of answers.

First of all, the FOOD! Cheesesteaks (obviously), Italian food, pizza, and every other delicious food you could find on any street corner. Everywhere you go in Philly, you will find an awesome restaurant, bar, whatever you want. And, of course, we have Wawa.

So many amazing people come from Philadelphia. Famous rappers like Lil Uzi Vert and Meek Mill. Actors like Will Smith, Bradley Cooper, and Kevin Hart. Signers like Patti Labelle and P!nk, and other famous people like Kobe Bryant and Grace Kelly.

Along with the many famous people, so many amazing things happen here, like the Made in America music festival and Philadelphia Car Show. People come from all over the country and even the world just attend a Philadelphia event. So many other amazing events occur literally every night of the week, including concerts, and sporting events.

The sports fans from Philadelphia are so so so well known for being absolutely insane. However, you know when you're from here, we're just very passionate. You can see that, especially when the sports teams are doing really well, but also when they aren't doing so well. Remember when the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2018? The streets of Philadelphia were filled with people chanting and yelling and being happy after winning the Super Bowl. However, the true fans were there since they were having bad seasons before, and that's what makes great, passionate fans.

Philadelphia brings people together. The high school that I was in was just like any other high school. There were cliques and established friend groups, especially as an upperclassmen. However, when asked, the whole school would come together and show their Philadelphia pride. I remember every year in high school, a bunch of my classmates would take the train down to Philadelphia for the Made in America music festival. The spirit we felt was irreplaceable and it made you so happy to be a part of this family you never knew you could be a part of.

Philadelphia is literally known as the City of Brotherly Love, and it definitely shows. Whether you live smack in the middle of Center City or in a town an hour outside of it, the spirit of Philadelphia travels and so does the love. The passion for the city that we all are from is in every single person and it's amazing to know that no matter where you go, you will always feel the love within you, given to you by the city of Philadelphia.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
