My Personal Bucket List

Eating pizza is number one.

My Personal Bucket List

Everybody has a bucket list -- things you want to do in your lifetime. Up until now, mine was almost entirely in the back of my head, adding a thing or two when I remembered. I wrote down the ten most important events, for my personal bucket list.

1. Eat a piece of pizza

Yep, that's right. At 23 years old, I have never tried a piece of pizza. (If you're scratching your head as to why, you should read my article about it here.) I hear so much hype about pizza and I need to know how good it truly is.

2. Travel to London

I've never traveled out of the country, and my first trip would definitely be London. It's so historic and beautiful, and there's a bonus of no language barrier -- they speak english!

3. Travel to Italy

This destination is purely based on the fact that I love eating and I would like to eat some good Italian food.

4. Go to Disneyland in California

Setting aside the fact that California is gorgeous and I would love to visit, I am obsessed with all things Disney and it just wouldn't feel right if I didn't make a point to visit the other theme park in the US.

5. Go skydiving

I've heard so many people tell me how awesome and exhilarating this is, I would love to find out for myself (assuming I don't chicken out because I'm known to do that).

6. Go to a farm and play with a baby pig

I have a love for pigs unlike any other -- in fact, I have a large tattoo of a pig on my thigh. I have dreams of running onto a farm and playing with an adorable, pink squealing piggy.

7. Go to z100 Jingleball Concert

This seems kinda pathetic, right? Going to Jingleball has been my goal since I was about 12 and yet, every year the tickets sell out faster then I can even understand. I have made it a lifelong goal to go see one show, because I have tried for years to win tickets or buy them and it never works.

8. Be an extra on a movie set

This just seems cool to me. See all the behind the scenes work with the actors and the crew, get to be on the big screen!

9. Publish a book

I'll be completely up front and say I have absolutely no idea what the book would be about, or what genre it would be. I don't have any plans, but it still would be cool to be a published author.

10. Buy a condo in Ocean City, Maryland

This is a purely personal goal and probably the only one I would be significantly said to see not happen in my life. I went to Ocean City every summer on vacation when I was younger. The place holds such great memories for me, I want to share that with my friends and family now, and get my own place to create some new memories.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
