Dear Mom,

I don't even know where to start, but you have given everything to me that I could have ever wanted or needed. You were always there when I was having a bad day, and you worked your butt off to afford every sport that I had to experiment with. You attended every game or competition that I played, cheered, or danced at. Thank you for supporting me all these years whether you wanted to or not. Thank you for painting those countless photos that are sitting in the garage with me. (I might use them one day.)

You are the best person in my life no matter whether we are fighting or getting along perfectly. I compare us to Lorelei and Rory from Gilmore Girls because we have that bond that only a mother and daughter can have. If only we had the coffee addiction, then we would be exact replicas of them.

I hear the stories about how ever since you were a child you only wanted one kid, and damn, I am so glad God let me be that child. I know life is not always perfect, but I can tell you that I would not have wanted to spend my 19 years on this planet with anybody else. Other people have come in and out of my life or became preoccupied with other people and kind of left me on the back burner, but you have always been at anything I could have ever wanted you at.

When I moved to college, it was really hard at first being away from you, because we had never spent more than 3 weeks away from each other (in all honesty I don't think we've spent 3 weeks away from each other since I've been here, but anyway), but we talk probably like 3-4 times a day and I am always happy to talk to you and ask you about Lay Lay. Sarah always says that I should get a t-shirt that says, "Where's Lay-Lay?" I couldn't be happier at LSU, but I wish I didn't have to drive an hour home to see you, but it is an easy way to surprise you.

Just thank you for everything you do for me and everything you have done for me in the past.

Your most perfect daughter,

Jaci Lauryn

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
