The President of the United States; What a title that is to hold.
In a mix of all the responsibility and the pressure to make your country safe, stable and prosperous, you also have to find ways to please the majority and accept the protests from the minority. Although you're living with your family at The White House, it's not that easy to just walk over to a coffee shop anymore or go see a movie at the mall.
Being President is essentially isolating yourself for your protection, which can seem lonely but if you think about all the perks that the President of the United States has, than I'm sure you'll realize that being President isn't that secluded.
Here are what I deem to be the top 4 perks of being President of the US, besides having the title of President of the US:
1. THE AMENITIES OF THE WHITE HOUSE.
You have a bowling alley, a movie theater, a tennis court, pool, gym, putting green, running track, and basketball court! Plus, whenever you're bored of that, the President and First Family can just call the helicopter and go to Camp David, the presidential vacation home in Maryland, where there is a pool, bowling alley, skeet shooting range, a spa, an ice skating rink and horse stables among other luxuries.
2. YOU GET TO RIDE AIR FORCE ONE.
Air Force One is the coolest and most high-tech airplane ever. Air Force One has a FULL presidential office, bathroom, bedroom, workout room, and telecommunications center. It can hold up to 70 passengers and 26 crew members. The lower level of the airplane also carries the President's motorcade. Did I mention this is an airplane?
3. AN UNLIMITED SUPPLY OF FREE CANDY AND SODA FROM COMPANIES ANYTIME YOU WANT.
Seriously though, free m&ms until you leave the White House? Dude, sign me up! The President just has to name what they are craving or what they want and companies will mail it free to the President and First Family to eat whenever, wherever! On top of this, they they have a lineup of chefs who can basically cook anything you can think of.
4. YOUR OWN ZIP CODE.
The White House has it's own zip code. Sure, the President's secretary opens all the mail received before the President does, but how cool is it to have your own zip code? Only close friends and family know it so if they want to send you letters or something it goes straight to you!
The job of the President of the United States is no joke though. While there are lots of perks to the job and the feeling that you're truly helping your country, the job is filled with hardship and tough decisions that the public often criticise because they don't understand. Often times President's will come into office and leave office with people saying that they accomplished little to nothing, when in reality there is a reason why many Presidents are re-elected for two terms - it is because citizens believe that they are doing good and need to follow through on the projects and plans.
Regardless, being part of the First Family (especially the Obama's) is a one-of-a-kind deal.
