People Who Live Differently

Sometimes, all one should do is look deep enough and see who the person really is.

People Who Live Differently

Some are born to live:

To coast through life day by day.

Some are born to be productive:

To work through the world and gain.

Some are born to explore:

To discover new and exciting things.

Some are born to be angry:

To bully their way through life.

Some are born to be saints:

To help those in need and others.

One of those who is helpful is Clarissa. Clarissa is outgoing and fun to be around for sure, but she does what she can to help when one calls for it. She does not complain, and she accepts people with open arms. Whenever someone needs help, she comes around. She will make sure everyone is cared for around her. She has even helped two little boys find a loving home with her family. Clarissa is one of the greatest friends to have and hold.

One of those who are bullies is Florence. Florence goes around, making sure people are nonproductive and unhappy at work. He tries to belittle his coworkers and those who work under him—making them feel insignificant. He will constantly yell in the office acting like a two-year-old boy who is having a tantrum. Florence makes sure to keep face around customers, but even then, sometimes he lets it through. Sometimes, though, one must wonder what Florence went through to become as he had.

One of those who is adventurous is Rachel. Rachel strives to become different each and every day. She loves the outdoors and photography. She would love to be a photographer one day. One of her goals is to go on a nice, long road trip with her family. She tries to eat healthily and to motivate others to do the same. She will explore new foods and new ways to keep her happy. Rachel lives to different and to have fun.

One of those who is productive is Ken. Ken works every day, keeping to the goal of providing for his family and his projects. He strives to be a service leader in the community, and he will be there if you call on him. Ken has excelled in school getting his Master’s degree. It allows him to have a better job in the end. He will work and strive to be better for himself and those around him. Ken works to keep busy.

One of those who lives day by day is Daniel. Daniel feels like there is no purpose, not seeing what others see in him. He coasts through life, not quite understanding what there is to offer. One of the things he will look forward to is when his friends come around, but they cannot always stay. He works and then goes home, never striving to do something different. Ken never sees the light at the end of the tunnel as he buries himself in nothing.

There are all different people who walk around us. One could act a certain way to one group, but then to another group, one would keep a different persona. One could act the same way around everybody. But in the end, everyone has a core value which can be seen. Sometimes, all one should do is look deep enough and see who the person really is.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
