One of my biggest fears, is not speaking my mind until it's too late. Words left unsaid, important feelings left unheard. Just the thought of it has kept me up at night before because there once was a time where I held everything in and all it did was hurt me. By the time I was ready to speak, the conversation was over forever. That's why I try to not let a day go by without saying all that I have to.

I find one of the most overlooked things that needs to be said are thank you's.

Sometimes they're implied. Sometimes you and someone in your life do so much for each other that it feels overwhelming to try and thank for every little thing. Sometimes, things that you'd never expect to want to thank someone for become the most important.

Remember to thank your best friends. The people who don't leave your side. Who you can show every part of you, and who don't judge you for who you are. Thank them for listening, for coming with you to your doctor's appointment, for being a few minutes late to their next destination because your conversation ran just a little long. It's easy to thank them when they bring you food or run an errand for you, but just by being in your life they give you just as much.

Remember to thank the person you love most. The person you turn to who gives your heart a place to pour its love into. Thank them for existing, for being a part of your life. Thank them for bringing light to your life, for being patient, for staying. Because their presence is a blessing, and even though they know how you feel, it's nice to hear it too.

Remember to thank your mother or father. Thank them for setting up your life the way the did. Even if they did a bad job. If they've supported you through it all, thank them for being your first fan and most loyal. If they weren't there for you, thank them for making you learn how to rely on yourself first and foremost. For teaching you what to change in the world when you grow up. They shape you whether you like it or not. But either way, you turned out pretty great.

Remember to thank the people that hurt you the most. Thank them making you question everything you know. For breaking all sense of trust so could you learn what's authentic next time around. For making you learn how to be strong all on your own. And thank them for leaving so you could make room for better.

Remember to thank yourself. For never leaving your side, for existing, for setting yourself up for growth and success, for building yourself back up every time you get taken down. For everything. Everything that someone has done for you or to you, chances are you've done them to yourself. But if you're in the one person in your life that you never thank for all you've done, it's gonna be a lot harder to keep loving yourself into staying. And you always deserve to stay.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for feeling. Thank you for existing.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
