People Don't Suck, You Do

Maybe you think people suck because you're actually the one who sucks.

People Don't Suck, You Do

"People Suck!"

I hear this constantly from people who aren't happy with the way their life is going or they're unhappy with what someone did. People do not suck. I'm here to tell you that people probably "suck" because you're the one who sucks. I had to learn this the hard way, so I'm hoping to save you some trouble down the line.

Your interactions with people begin with the energy you bring to the table. The energy you put out into this world is the same kind of energy you will be surrounded with. I define "your energy" as: your attitude, your actions, the way you carry yourself, and the way you interact with the world. Your energy is a major factor in how your life meshes with the rest of the world. Your energy can define your whole life and that's why I want to help you figure out why people level of "suckiness" is directly related to how much (or little) you suck.

People subconsciously respond to the same energy they are faced with. Someone smiles, you smile back. You scowl at someone, they scowl back. You complement someone, they respond with a smile and a thank you. See what I'm getting at?

This "energy" rant brings me back to my original statement that people do not suck. People are good if you allow them to be. If you wake up in the morning with the thought that people are nothing but evil and they cause nothing but harm, then that is all you will see and perceive throughout your day. But if you wake up and are under the impression that you will be blown away by how many great people you will interact with that day, then you will perceive that throughout your day.

I am urging you to be overly aware of the energy you are bringing to the world around you. I'm not asking you to nit pick every little thing you do, but do be aware of how people perceive you. I'm saying this because the way people perceive you will influence your interactions with them. Of course there will always be situations where you're a rose and someone just dislikes roses. And that's okay. You can't please everyone, but you should still try to please those that you can because there's an undeniable negative energy that radiates off of people that have a bad taste in their mouth regarding you.

The universe will be good to you if you allow it to be good. Unfortunately, we live in a culture where we believe that ill intentions are the only kind of intentions in this world. The first step to realizing your energy potential, and expanding up on it, is to make the conscious decision to be the kind of person you would like to interact with. The second you start acting like the person you would like to interact with, is the same second you will be surrounded by the kind of people you will love to be around.

To sum all of this up: you attract people who are on the same energy frequency as you. Function at the same frequency as the kind of people you hope to affiliate with and those people will find you.

And remember to love yourself enough to operate at a frequency that will be beneficial to the future you hope to have.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
