People Change

And it can even be for the better.

People Change.

It's true. People change. You change and I change. It's a part of getting older and it's a part of finding yourself.

Have you ever stopped and thought about who you were a year ago? And how that person is different than the person you are now. New experiences and life lessons create a new you.

Change can be created by many things sometimes it by what's happening in your life. Sometimes by your friends and other times just maturing.

Something that impacted my life in a huge way and that has changed me was becoming single. Single life is a lot different than being in a committed relationship. I find myself doing more of the things I love and thinking about myself more now than I have ever before. I've become more independent. I don't depend on anyone to do anything for me. I love myself more and I've become more confident in the person I am. And if I don't like something then I change it. This change is also impacted by maturity.

I've found that in the past year I've matured so much. And part of this has to do with moving out of my parents house. When I moved out I felt a sense of freedom and responsibility. Sometimes people are afraid of responsibility. But not me. I love being able to do things on my own and not rely on anyone to take care of me. I found a new sense of independence. I use to have to tell my mom whenever I went out and now I don't have to. I do what I want when I want. I make decisions on my own and don't need anyone's approval.

This life is mine and I'm going to live it how I want.

I know what I love and I'm going to go out of my way to do the things that I enjoy.

I care less about what people think. As I've changed I've cared less. I don't care what people think of me. I don't care that I'm not perfect. I have a greater sense of who I am and I strive to be myself and not have anyone influence that. I don't care when people try to put me down. Their opinion are not mine and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Life too short to worry about what other people think. What matters the most is how you view and how you think of yourself.

As I get older and as I mature and change, I see the world in a different way. The world is a beautiful place with beautiful people. There are endless adventure and places to see. Everyone has a story and every person is unique. Human connections are so special but connecting with yourself is important too. I don't know what I want to do with my life yet but I know who I want to be.

I want to be kind and spontaneous. I wanna have fun and be a little reckless but I also want to be respectful and compassionate. I want to live my life to the fullest.

Be open to change and be open to yourself. When you find and love yourself. It won't ever matter who you become.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
