The Quiet Rage Of Passive Aggressive Drivers

No, really, it's YOUR turn even though I got here first. I insist.

You've heard of aggressive drivers who honk their horns at anything that doesn't move within two seconds. You've probably felt your car shake after a speed demon reenacts a scene from one of the "Fast and Furious" movies. You might have even been a frightened passenger in that car, too scared to utter a word as the driver whooped and yelled in excitement or anger (or both). Yes, aggressive drivers make it obvious they are who they are, but what about the passive aggressive?

Signs you're a passive aggressive driver.

1. Your hand is like this half the time.

and your other hand stays away from the horn. You don't even brush it with your pinky.

2. During traffic you feel like you're in "Mad Max: Fury Road" as you glare at other drivers.

You have every intention of ramming your car into every car in your way. Except...

3. As soon as you make eye contact you have to act cool and aloof.

via GIPHY

Show them no fear as you scream on the inside with a death grip on the steering wheel.

4. Four-way stop? More like NO way stop.

Maybe if you keep edging forward the other cars will know it's your turn. YOUR TUR--Oh wait. No, it's fine. Go ahead. OKAY NOW--Wait nope. You're crawling over the crosswalk at this point. GO!

5. Maybe if you tailgate them they'll go a little faster...

via GIPHY

You'd rather weave around cars before punching the horn.

6. Someone pisses you off? Tell them. Not to their face of course.

via GIPHY

Don't look at them. Don't make hand gestures. Just mumble under your breath and scare your passengers. Follow up your hushed curses with, "It's fine. Don't worry about it."

7. Someone's speeding behind you?

via GIPHY

Better slow down to show them how to obey speed limits like the model citizen you are, right?

8. When the car in front of you suddenly slows down and turns without a signal.

I'm not angry they turned. I'm just angry they didn't tell me. Whatever.

9. Last but not least... the lack of a thank you wave.

Excuse me? You're f*cking welcome.

I must confess I am guilty of all of these, especially as a resident of the passive-fic aggressive northwest.

Doesn't matter if you're an aggressive driver, a passive aggressive driver, or someone who just easily goes with the flow, you need to be careful on the road to protect not just yourself but others around you. With holiday season just around the corner, be responsible.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
