Passion is "any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling; strong affection; love; a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything" according to The Random House College Dictionary Revised Edition. However, passion is far more than just a definition from a book. Passion is more of a way of life, something that some people surround their whole lives with and keep with them wherever they go. People can find their own passion in many different places in their lives. A passion for something can come from everywhere all around us. Where can each of us find our own passion?
1. The Past
The past can be one place where people can find their passion. People who are historians have found their passion in the histories that they either know of or discover for themselves. Teachers and other educators, as well as students who want to become teachers, discover their passion for education through their past experiences with the teachers that they had before. Many people find their passion through what they have experienced throughout their lives, which may lead them into the careers of their choosing.
2. Love
Love is another thing in which people can find their passion. This passion can be shown through the love one has for their family, always wanting to make them proud and be there for one's family. The love for someone can help a person find what they are passionate about, not matter what it may be. Passion can be found through love that someone has inside of them.
3. Music and Art
Passion can also be found through music and art. People can find their passion through creation. Creation of something or how something is created may show someone where their passion is. The passion for art and music can lead a person to who they truly are as an individual. It can also show them where they are meant to be or what they have the capability to do. Through music people can find the passion to be who they are and express how they feel on the inside of themselves. Art can accomplish the same thing as music can if that is what an individual wants it to do.
4. Life
People may just find their own passion through life itself. A passion for life can have an affect on one's outlook of their life. That kind of passion can stay inside someone for years. It can also give a person the encouragement that they need to help the people around them and in the world that we all live in.
