Flexibility?

Skinny and tall?

Expression? Yes.

People who are not in dance think that it is all about being super skinny and having amazing technique and being able to do at least a triple turn.

Some think it is easy and that they can do better, but why don't you step out there and try doing a rond de jambe without turning out and having your feet pointed, just try pushing through.

The point is that the true meaning of dance isn't about competition. The core of dance is about passion and enjoying yourself by moving freely to what you feel.

Dance is about expressing yourself, it's an art.

Sure, some want to be toned and flexible and what not, but it is also about figuring out what it truly means to you.

Dance is a therapy. I can express sadness, anger, and happiness through it.

It goes from moving my head in different directions to throwing my arms how ever I feel like it, to twerking when I am happy. Maybe not too much the twerking, but if you ever want to try to dance, think of your body as the emotion you are feeling. Just think about everything you can do with your feet! It doesn't matter how silly or good you look, it just matters how well you are expressing yourself.

I have been in and out of dance because I have been self-conscious since the second grade, no lie!

I regret being on and off and not being fully dedicated because I am still at a learning level, but ever since I started dancing again, I have never felt more free.

I am impressed because when someone starts to get dedicated, they become better as a person and a dancer.

Again, in the end, it is not about how amazing you are, but about how much dance means to you- that is what shows your true colors. The passion you feel enhances your dancing.

Not just with dance but with anything you are passionate about. Don't lose hope on whatever it is. Keep doing it because your passion is like a therapy for you and a stress reliever!

Our passion is what helps us keep going and helps push us to become the best person we can be. It definitely defines who we are, whether it is singing, yoga, knitting, or teaching.

Everyone has a vision and for me, I know dance inspires me. It gives me something to work for.

Also, once you find the right people and who you fit in best with, there is no going back. You make connections, unforgettable ones. You find that people with the same interest, help build each other up because life is not a competition. I've learnt that and I cannot wait to see how far I go by working hard and pushing myself to feel that passion more, and to stop being afraid of showing my true colors through dance.

A passion will be a passion and there is no going back once you find it.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
