Thank You To The People Who Have Given Me Everything

I was very fortunate to have grown up with two of the best people I know, my parents. God could not have chosen better people to raise me and guide me in my life, and for that, I am so grateful. They have done everything in their power to get me to where I am today, and I often think about how blessed I am to have both of them.

Not only have my parents worked hard for what they have, but they also instilled in my brother and I a work ethic to put our best into all we do. I appreciate that they have made us work for what we want, whether it's good grades or extra spending money. It has made us into better people today.

There are so many things that my parents have done for me, and I know that I have not had an accurate chance to explain how grateful I am. I hope I can one day make it up to them and repay them somehow.

Thank y'all for raising me in church and leading me on the right path. It has had such a huge impact on the way I've grown up and the lifelong friends I've made.

Thank y'all for putting me through school and giving me a roof over my head. I have never had to worry about a thing, and I know how fortunate I am to be given that privilege.

Thank y'all for letting me transfer to a school that has brought me such great friends and so much happiness. I don't know what I would do without ECU or the people here that I love so much.

Thank y'all for everything you have given me and continue to give me. I can't imagine where I would be right now without your help and love.

Thank y'all for the unconditional love and support you have given me. I know that I can come to y'all for anything and know that you will be there for me.

Thank y'all for letting me make my own choices and letting me be independent.

Most of all, thank y'all for being who you are. I love y'all so much and hope to be just like y'all in my future.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
