From the times when our parents went out of town for the weekend in high school, to when our current roommates go home to visit their beloved doggos, we all find ourselves home alone at point or another. Most of us are unfazed by a night or two alone in our house/apartment, but we’d be lying if we didn’t admit to the occasional moment of paranoia. OK, maybe more than one moment.
1. Did I lock the door?
2. It’s certainly never been this quiet here.
3. Maybe if I turn on some music things will feel more normal.
4. Is anyone free to hang out tonight?
5. What was that noise?
6. No, really. What was that noise? Is someone in the house?
7. Pretty sure I forgot to lock the door.
8. Pretty sure I’m going to die.
9. OK false alarm, nobody is here.
10. Why won’t anyone text me back?
11. I could never live alone.
12. Oh my god, there’s a spider.
13. It’s on the ceiling, I can’t kill it, it will jump down and attack me.
14. A movie would be a good distraction.
15. "Insidious 3" is my favorite! But not today, Satan.
16. "Mean Girls" it is.
17. THE. SPIDER. IS. MOVING.
18. If it wasn’t 2 a.m., I would be out of here so fast.
19. I should leave a note for my roommates when they come home and find me mutilated. It’ll say “this is what happens when none of you are home to protect me from these rabid eight-legged home invaders.”
20. Perhaps I’m being a little dramatic. Good thing my roommates will be home in 4 hours.
21. Oh, NOW you guys can text me back?
22. I’m just going to go sleep in my roommate’s room so the spider can have my room to itself.
