Paramedics, Firefighters, And Police Officers: Thank You
Katie Worthy

To the police officers, firefighters, and paramedics:

Thank you to all those who serve our community. I appreciate everything you do and will do to serve the citizens of your town. Thank you for risking your life to save ours.

To the police officers: Thank you for coming to help us when we get in a car accident. Thank you for coming to help us when our house gets robbed. If it weren't for the help from the two officers back in 2009 when my house got robbed, those two fools would've gotten away. So, thank you. Thank you for being there for me and my sister when we got in a car accident last year two days before Christmas. Thank you for being so patient with us and for keeping us calm. Thank you for taking one of the hardest jobs out there just to keep those you love safe. I appreciate all of your service.

To the paramedics: Thank you for saving lives one day at a time. You busted your tail in school just to help others out. Thank you for rushing to bad car accidents. Thank you for helping those in need of getting to the hospital. Thank you for trying to get people stable. You are so awesome at what you do.

To the firefighters: Thanks for risking your lives just to save others. Thanks for getting that scared cat out of the tree. Thanks for going to car accidents and helping when needed. Thank you for putting others needs above your own.

So, thank you to all of those who diligently serve our community. For the families out there that have a family member that are in one of these professions, give them a big hug from me. I appreciate all they do. They always go above and beyond the call of duty. You all are heroes in my book!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
