The Struggles Of Packing For College

Let's be honest, packing is hard especially when it's for college.

As exciting going back to college is it's pretty much agreed upon by everyone that packing is the biggest pain in the buttever. It always feels like there are 5 million things you need to pack, but you know you simply cannot bring it all with you.

The first step to packing for college is always forcing yourself to get out of that summer funk. Force yourself to move and start putting together what you think you need for the school year. The reality is, you'd much rather be in bed watching Netflix instead of packing and forcing yourself to start feels like you need all the strength in the world.

Once you've finally convinced yourself that you need to figure out what you need to pack for school, there's that overwhelming feeling of I NEED TO BRING IT ALL even though you really don't. Whether you're going through your closet, bookshelf or what ever you feel like you need to pack, it's always so hard to pick and choose.

Despite how much one tries to limit themselves in picking out what they need for college whether it be clothes, shoes, books, dorm decor, or anything really, you've probably put out more than your suitcases/duffel bags/car space/airplane weight limit can handle. Even after trying to stuff it all into wherever telling yourself it is fine, it really isn't and you're left hardcore struggling to pick out the things you can live without for the term/year.

Honestly though, once you've made it through that it's all smooth sailing from here. You've more or less prepared everything you need for college, and all you have to do is shove it all in your bags at one point before you leave. If you're a procrastinator, you might put off shoving things in until the last minute, and as stressful as that may be hopefully you've at least prepared(ish) what you need for school.

For those who don't find packing to be a struggle, I truly admire you. For others, good luck on your packing endeavors and hopefully it's all not to crazy! After all fall term is around the corner and eventually you're going to have to start packing!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
