Why You Should Pack A Shoebox for Operation Christmas Child
Samaritan's Purse

Ever since I was a little girl, packing shoeboxes every November was a family tradition. It still is a family tradition. Samaritan's Purse allows families and individuals to impact those in the world, particularly children. They share the love of Christ in a hurting world, one that most likely won't get Christmas presents from their families, most likely has never seen a phone and most likely have the biggest hearts and smiles you'll ever see. These individuals from Samaritian's Purse go to where these children are, in the name of the Lord, and serve these children and families.

Operation Christmas Child has a special place in my heart. You pick a shoebox or a plastic box about the size of a shoebox and stuff it full of presents for a little boy or girl. There are different age ranges, varying from 2-14. You can write a letter to the children and sometimes you even get one back! You can pack the shoebox full of crayons, pencils, toothbrushes, washcloths, soccer balls, dolls, almost anything you think a child could want. If you can't or aren't sure if they would want it, Samaritan's Purse even has a list of 'do pack' and 'don't pack.' Here's a link to the do's and don't's of packing!

You have to put a $9 fee (which helps with international shipping costs) and a label on whether you packed it for a girl or boy and the age group. After you pack the shoebox, there's different drop off locations! Here's a link to the various drop off locations!

I encourage, I IMPLORE, you to go to their website and pack a shoebox for a child this season. Sacrificing coffee or even your extra dessert for a week shows the love of Christ to a child this Christmas season!

HURRY THOUGH- National Collection Week is November 13-20!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
