Being emotional means a bad day can feel like the end of the world but a simple, nice gesture makes your entire year.

You're sentimental, yet sensitive, about everything! Sometimes it seems really unfair because you don't understand why your body's first response to a situation or circumstance is to cry. Sometimes, however, you know it can mean that you have a passionate heart and a lot of empathy for others. It doesn't always have to be about guilt or shame or weakness. Crying is an emotion we all endure but as annoying as it can be, it can be just as refreshing.

If you're an emotional person then you know what its like to get a lump in your throat about the smallest but most human things. Here are ten different things that you can relate to if you're the person who has to buy waterproof mascara because you know you're shedding a tear a least once today:

1. Kids aren't always our favorite human beings–let's be honest, they're pretty annoying.

Their innocence, however, is something to admire and almost be jealous of because it's so pure you can't help but say "Awwww!"

2. Even typing in the words "military homecoming videos" into youtube has you reaching for the tissue box.

Oh yes.

3. Elderly couples who have been together for an obscene amount of years.

It gives you the hope and tears you needed for the love you hope to have.

4. You can't look me in the eye and tell me you don't turn into mush when it comes to baby animals of all kinds.

Told you.

5. When nothing seems to be going right in your day.

You can't find a parking spot, you're late to work, and your boss doesn't understand that life happens and interferes with your plans of being on time. Sometimes your 15-minute break is spent crying in the bathroom.

6. When you try explaining yourself to someone but you get so frustrated that you start crying.

And that someone now thinks you're weak but you're really just trying not to punch them.

7. When you take a moment to listen to the Dixie Chicks.

And feel real nostalgic about when you were younger, but then you realize you're only 22 and should probably be living a life your 44-year-old self would be nostalgic for.

8. When you settle in to watch American Idol. but a contestant has an emotional backstory that tears you in two.

But also has you feeling super grateful for the life you have but so happy for them to be in a place where they can now audition on tv.

9. When you think about how grateful you are for your parents and how they have helped you immensely to get you to where you are today.

Yeah, moms are annoying and dads don't always understand, but you can't wait to give them back tenfold of what they've provided you.

10. When you're overwhelmed with the amount of work you have to get done.

But know that graduation is around the corner and no matter what your anxiety tells you, you are going to make it in this big, beautiful world, dammit!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
