How Other Non-Human Cartoons Would Fare In The World Of Pokemon

While giving them their Pokemon counterparts.

With the incredible now slightly annoying explosion of Pokemon Go, many former fans or new fans have jumped on board to the world of Pokemon, making it the most relevant its been since 2000. (Side note there’s been a bunch of dudes in the King of Prussia area who have been old enough to legally purchase alcohol for quite some time now and I’ve never seen you at our Pokemon tournaments a couple years back so think about that next time you call yourself a master.) Anyhow, with their being seemingly close to 1,000 Pokemon, despite the app only focusing on the original (thank god) I thought it would be fun to look at some other non-human cartoon characters and see how they would fare in the world of Pokemon, while comparing them to actual Pokemon.

Scooby-Doo ("Scooby-Doo")

Our old pal Scooby would be a normal type, but is someone who tends to cower in fear more than provide much help, but can come through when called upon in the clutch for moments that one can describe as epic. Kinda like when Misty's Psyduck finally evolved into Golduck in the cartoon. I won't say spoiler alert since you had more than enough time to watch the show when it aired instead of playing outside like I assumed you did. So if you couldn’t already tell, Scooby would be a Psyduck.

Brian Griffin ("Family Guy")

Another normal type (this will most likely be most of them so just bear with me), Brian is quick-witted and a lot smarter than his owners despite his questionable habits. Well before he opened a can of Liberal on everyone's arses. So for that he's Meowth.

The Characters on Spongebob ("Spongebob Squarepants")

Obviously water types except SpongeBob and Sandy being that Sandy is a squirrel so they can be a water-fighting hybrid due to their karate. Larry and Mr. Krabs would be strong players due to the formers strength and the later's military experience. Every character would be comparable to any water type, but we'll give SpongeBob and Sandy Poliwrath due to their aforementioned hybrid. Patrick is Slowpoke. They're both pink and it just makes too much sense. P.S. That picture is pretty dope if I do say so myself. Literally every character is represented. Go ahead, zoom in and see for yourself.

Mr. Meeseeks ("Rick and Morty")

I'm classifying this as an unknown type, because I frankly don’t know what he’s supposed to be, (yes I can do that. You thought you knew everything didn't you) but this minor "Rick and Morty" character physically cannot die (or pass out whatever helps you sleep at night) until his task is completed. So he's obviously a Mew or Mewtwo.

Bender ("Futurama")

I'm classifying him as both steel and a fire type. Sure he's a robot and probably made of metal that can occasionally create fire but just work with me here. He really only has one function (to bend things obviously) so for that reason he can be Metapod who can only harden. I know the types don't match but this is my article gosh darn it. Some may also see it as harsh, but chances are he’d be too drunk to function in battle.

Towlie ("South Park")

Towlie, another normal type who would most likely spend his time outside (or lets' face it probably inside as well) getting high off of anything and everything. So for that, he’d probably so slambone-toonched that all he will be able to do is flop around on the field of battle. So for that, he can be a Magikarp. I don’t see him evolving into a Gyrados type any time soon, kind of like most Magikarps.

Pooh Bear ("Winnie the Pooh")

Yet another normal. Pooh would be like Snorlax. Pooh’s a little butter ball who wouldn’t harm a fly. All he wants to do is eat honey and chill. All Snorlax wants to do is sleep and chill. Just don't wake him. However I can’t see Pooh doing anything too violent though, so he’d probably be more like a Snorlax when he’s blocking the road before you have the flute in the GameBoy games.

Jessica Rabbit ("Who Framed Roger Rabbit")

First off, haters will most likely say that she is a "human" cartoon. To them I respond with she's married to a rabbit. Engaging in beastiality does not make you a normal person, real or cartoon, in these eyes. But before we go too far down that road, this femme fatale will get the psychic type. She can use her smoking hot body (I know she’s a cartoon but I mean who are we kidding here) to hypnotize any cartoon, or human male, and honestly probably female. Those hips don’t lie. So for that, she can be like Jynx, who’s “Lovely Kiss” attack puts Pokemon to sleep via some sort of hypnotization. Most likely via some sort of sex coma since I don’t’ see Pokemon mating too often after being caught. They’ve been out of the game a while so they’ll get tired. I was tempted to make her Cloyster since that Pokemon is basically a floating vagina, but I refrained.

I still find it astounding that Pokemon is almost as relevant in 2016 as it was in 1999-2000. (Almost, remember the Internet wasn’t anything close to what it is today back then.) But having said that I still thought it would be fun to see how some other cartoon favorites would fare in that universe. Have other ideas feel free to lay them on me.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
