The hashtag known as "Spooky Week" that arises on social media the week before Halloween has been coined by none other than famous Youtubers Dan Howell and Phil Lester, a.k.a DanIsNotOnFire and AmazingPhil. Along with their main channel videos regarding the scary season, they also upload gaming videos on their gaming channel (DanandPhilGAMES) that consist of the pair playing horror video games in order to spook themselves AND their viewers.

As I have just binged watched the entirety of this playlist within one day, I have compiled a ranking of which videos you should watch first using my own rendition of the "One-to-Spook" scale. All of these games are available for purchase and/or download somewhere on the internet. (Silent Hill P.T has been discontinued)

1. Can Your Pet?

This video or game isn't necessarily scary. It's cute and even has a fairly catchy tune at the beginning. You get to take care of a cute little pet! It's quite relieving and a good warm up before you watch the rest of these videos.

However, it was included in the Scary Playlist for a reason, wasn't it?

2. Slenderman - This includes ALL versions of the Slenderman game as they become spookier!

I've never been a fan of Slenderman because I never really understood the point of the game nor have I ever really gotten scared by it. I kind of think it's overrated, but when Phan played Spongebob Slenderpants, I was terrified. The other version that I know is out there is a Shrek version in which you can find on ThatcherJoeGames.

WARNING: major mouse spasms by Dan and Phil WILL occur when Slenderman appears.

3. Sonic.exe - This includes ALL of the Sonic.Exe videos as they go together!

While the graphics of the game aren't amazing, your childhood of playing Sonic and knowing the Sonic characters will be ruined. It's a harrowing computer game based on a creepypasta that has plenty of jump scares in JPEG form. It's also a debut of Phil's Sonic dexterity skills that he acquired from his past experience with playing Sonic. While Dan told Phil to never download an .exe file, he concludes in the last Sonic video that "it won't crash your mum's computer," so if you have a hankering for a demonic version of Sonic, it's safe!

Also, do me a favor and appreciate the Sonic t-shirt that Phil wears throughout these three Sonic videos.

4. Five Nights at Freddy's - Again, this includes ALL versions of FNAF!

Five Nights at Freddy's has recently become a well-known horror video game. Ninety-nine percent of Youtube gaming channels have gone through the heart attacks that the game series causes. With Dan and Phil's videos of them playing each version of this game, you'll witness a ton of swearing ("Maybe don't watch with your grandma..." -Phil), screaming, scary animatronic animals, and the legendary moment of Dan falling off his chair. These two are determined to at least get past Night One and they won't quit until they do. Your heart rate will definitely increase after watching these spooks.

5. Timore INFERNO

If you have a fear of dolls and mannequins like Dan and Phil, you're going to be terrified watching this particular video. The graphics aren't very great, but like Sonic, this game is full of jump scares and creepy creatures. This wasn't my favorite spooky video, however, the only reason that I put it here is because of the amazing commentary from Dan. SPOILER: He does a lot of s*%#ing.

6. Outlast/Outlast 2 Demo

There are two videos - the first being the original Outlast video game with only Dan and the second being both Dan and Phil playing the Outlast 2 Demo game. This video was incredibly terrifying as it keeps you on your toes, even as a watcher. Not only that, but you feel Dan's pain as he screams and scares himself out of sleep for a week during the first video as he sits alone in the dark without Phil anywhere around him.

7. P.T (Silent Hill)

I've watched this particular game done with several Youtubers (Caspar Lee, Joe Sugg, Drew Malino, Oli White) and every time it scares the living daylights out of me. The jump scares are incredibly amazing as you try to figure out what's going to happen next in the game and where certain noises are coming from, why the lighting is all red, why there's a fetus in the bathroom...it's by far the best video that Dan and Phil Games has done.

That concludes my ranking of spooks on Dan and Phil's Scary Games! Playlist. I hope that you have been intrigued to watch these videos either again or for your first time. For your absolute convenience, you'll find that I've included the links to said videos below!

Have a good spook!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
