"Orange is the New Black" has a cast of very diverse characters. They all have different interests, personalities and hobbies. What if Litchfield Penitentiary was Litchfield University? What would our favorite characters be like as students? What kind of grades would they get? Would they even show up to class? Here is my take on what the main characters of "Orange is the New Black" would be like as our college classmates.
Soso: the straight A's, front row student.
The teacher's pet, top of the class. She crams for tests that she doesn't even need to study for. Soso would always be the first to volunteer and remind the professor to collect the homework.
Reznikov: the intimidating one.
Even the professor is afraid of her. However, if you get on her good side, you're in. She's always there to help "her girls" with homework or essays. Not to mention you can reap the benefits of her dining hall connections.
Angie and Leanne: the butt buddies.
They automatically look at each other when told to pick a partner. They are always having side conversations during class and getting dirty looks for it. No one really likes them except them.
Piper: the loner.
Piper sucks up to the teacher and often works by herself. She also runs a shady business selling essays and homework answers on the side. Chapman is well respected, but not well liked.
Norma: the quiet one.
She sits in the back of the class taking very detailed notes. Most of the class has never heard her speak (except for Red) and didn't even know her name was Norma until the end of the semester.
Taystee: the motivated one.
Taystee gives her best effort in everything she does. She is truly eager to learn, and even has a clerical office job on the side.
Daya: the introvert.
Daya sits in the back and keeps to herself. She is usually either texting her estranged boyfriend, or doodling in the margins of her notebook.
Crazy Eyes: the inventor.
Suzanne looks like she's furiously taking notes, but she's actually writing her time-traveling fan fiction. Do not interrupt her creative process, or she will snap.
Alex: the skipper.
Vause is that student that shows up to class with only a pen. She spends first period perfecting her winged eyeliner in the bathroom. She will most likely cut all of her classes and just read books in her dorm.
Morello: the dreamer.
Morello spends her time looking at wedding DIYs on Pinterest and planning her big day from start to finish, even though she's not even engaged. Don't tell her that, though, she may start to cry.
