Just two weeks ago, I went to Target and all of the Halloween costumes were beginning to get marked down and candy was going on sale.
This week, I walked in to the same Target again, and splattered everywhere is Christmas. Target had their decals on the automatic doors, the little decorations and captivating items in the dollar section were out, and in the back of the store, Christmas trees were set up and decorated beautifully. I can't get over that we just celebrated Halloween, and Thanksgiving is a few weeks away, yet Christmas music is being sung already.
I am one of those firm people that won't get into the Christmas spirit until after Thanksgiving. My tree isn't up till November 26 or later and that's when the music begins playing, too. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and all that it has to offer. Giving gifts to loved ones and friends, decorating everything, and being close with the people that mean the most to me is my favorite time of the year, but I don't want to skip over the other holidays where my family is around as well.
Christmas has so much hustle and bustle attached to it, and Thanksgiving is the calm before the storm of all things Santa and elves. Enjoy that break to sit back and watch the parade and football before worrying about what to get your coworker for the pollyanna at work.
So, put away the holly, jolly, and tinsel and get out those comfy pants to put on after devouring some turkey and pumpkin pie because Thanksgiving is right around the corner!
