While Omaha may not be a city nationally known for their holiday events, it is most definitely a city sparkled in holiday cheer as the near ends to a close. If you have holiday fever, be sure to check out these events taking place throughout the metro during the 2015 holiday season.
1. A Christmas Carol at the Omaha Community Playhouse
Reminisce your childhood with this classic Christmas show beginning on November 20th continuing through December 23rd.
2. Holiday Lights Spectacular at Midtown Crossing
Show times nightly: November 21st through January 1st starting at 7 p.m. Get ready to be amazed with music and light choreography displayed onto Midtown’s own condominium complexes.
3. Holiday Lights Festival in Downtown Omaha
In light of the giving season, the annual Holiday Lights Festival will once again be supporting the Food Bank for the Heartland as part of the “Shine the Light on Hunger” campaign. Beginning on Thanksgiving Day, witness the annual tree lighting event and see Omaha truly light up. Other activities include the Conagra Ice Skating rink through January 3rd and the New Year’s Eve Firework Spectacular.

6. Winter Wonderland in Downtown Papillion
Ever wanted to take a picture with a reindeer? This is your chance. On November 28th, carriage rides, bonfires, Santa, reindeer, and more will be present at this local Papillion event.
7. Santa Sleigh Ride at Hummel Park Nature Center
On December 5th, Santa will offer rides around the park. In addition, be sure to enjoy hot cocoa and complete your wish list to Santa. This does require an RSVP, however, it is a free event. It is also required you bring a pair of mittens or nonperishable food to donate.
8. The Nutcracker
Taking place on December 5th and 6th, the Christmas story we all grew up to love makes a return to Nebraska’s Orpheum Theater. Tickets are available on www.ticketomaha.com, ranging from $25-$62.
