Hey. Let me just lay my heart out before you again. But…
Shoutout to my significant other. I mean, if I have a significant other, if you’re really out there. (This is discussed in last week’s article.)
I’ve found this amazing cover of Elvis’s song “Can’t Help Falling in Love” done by twenty one pilots and I keep listening to it and thinking of you.
You are so loved.
Yes, that’s right. I love you before I’ve ever met you. I’ve always loved you. (I can’t help it.) And I’m not the only one that loves you. You are loved by your family and your friends…and me.
You’re an outstanding person. You have done and will do great things. You have touched so many lives and have inspired so many dreams and you chase your own dreams.
You are a man of action. You reach for the stars and make your dreams a reality. You have a good heart and bright soul and a wonderful personality. You are driven and positive and creative. You are clumsy and humorous and competitive. You are everything that makes you, you.
You have good days, where the world is spread before you and you can do anything, dream anything, achieve anything. Those days are the best days. And I hope you have a lot of those days. (Hell, I hope I’m in some of those days.)
You have bad days too, “off days,” where you feel like nothing is going your way, where you feel like you’re at the world’s end and you’re on your knees, broken.
But you know that you must get up. I hope that you’ll remember us in these moments. We need you. I need you. YOU need you. So you push yourself up from your knees, and you pick up your broken pieces and know that you are loved. You are you. You can change the world.
I want you to know that, even though it may not seem like it, you are making a difference in the lives you touch. Your presence there can mean the world to someone.
I don’t know exactly when I’ll meet you (if I ever meet you) but I hope that you’re out there being awesome and brightening people’s worlds. But when we do meet, if we do meet, I hope you take my hand.
You are so loved.
Always.
I promise.
