Dear Winter Break,
I have been counting down the days for you, even before Thanksgiving break. All I have wanted these past two months was to relax without any homework, read my favorite book, watch my favorite Netflix series, and sleep. The past week has been anything but relaxing. I have had to finish all my work for my courses, write two papers, volunteer for four days in one week, and study for my final. I drank my body weight in coffee to keep from falling asleep while studying. I have had consecutive headaches from having too much caffeine in me and not enough sleep. All of this has resulted because of you, Winter Break.
Before going home to see my parents, my sister, my best friends, my dog, I had to get all of my homework done. Now that I am officially on break, I couldn’t be happier. I still have to catch up on sleep and fly home, but I have waited long enough. These next three weeks of you, will be the best three weeks I have had in months. Not having to deal with homework, sports, drama, dorm food, dorm bathrooms, or anything and everything that has to do with college.

Tomorrow I am flying home to you, and I don’t know where to begin. Do I eat first? Watch Netflix? See friends and family? There are many things I want to do, but I think I will stick with sleeping first. Having to run on very little sleep in college has been the hardest part. Now that I get to sleep until whenever, I will take full advantage, along with binge watching Netflix and reading all day. Nothing else even comes close to that.
I can’t believe you are finally here. After all the times being stressed, having no motivation, not knowing where to begin, now I don’t have to worry about any of these things. All I have to do is hangout and catch up on the things that I have missed, which is the best feeling. I won’t have to deal with worrying about getting homework done on time or being cranky from not enough sleep. You truly are a blessing and I will cherish these next three weeks.
I get to go to my favorite movie theater where they play $2.50 movies and next door is my favorite local coffee shop. Along with seeing a movie and getting coffee, I get to go to my favorite restaurants and eat food that I actually enjoy. I can’t wait for cold nights all bundled up drinking hot chocolate by the fire, or watching Christmas movies. I am going to make Christmas cookies and put up decorations, especially my Christmas tree. My favorite part is putting up ornaments and going shopping for gifts for family and friends.
Nothing sounds more perfect than spending time with you and all that you have to offer me, which is three weeks of pure bliss with no interruptions.
Yours Truly,
Grace
