Dear Toddlers,
Though you can’t say it, I can tell you guys love me from the very moment you walk into my classroom. The instant smiles, the hugs and cuddles I get when Mom hands you to me. Those moments matter to me. Seeing you all every morning makes me the happiest person in the world. Your smiles and laughs are the best medicine.
To the todds that have moved on: The saddest days I have to face are the ones when you guys will either leave the center or move to a different class. I have grown so accustomed to the cheesy smiles and the sly looks. From reading "Bubbles Bubbles" every hour, to the book being nowhere to be found (but that’s OK because I know every word at this point). You will never know how happy it makes me when I walk past your classroom and you get so excited to see me. I love knowing that you love me too.
To the todds that I still see everyday: You guys are what make it worth it. I can always count on an exciting day with you all. Watching each of you grow in your own little way, taking steps I’ve never seen you take before and saying words that you hear me saying each and every day. Helping your classmates problem-solve. Even when you are all working together to tear my classroom apart - when you guys are learning, so am I.
To the babies who will be todds soon: It’s almost time for me to steal you from the infant room! You guys are the first set of children that I would have known since you first came to the center. I hear about how much you grow each day from your teachers. I can’t wait for you to grow even more with my help. Seeing you crawling now and knowing that in a few months you will be in my classroom and walking is such a scary thought. I remember when you were so small that you could not even hold your head up.
You are all such fantastic children. I am so grateful that I was given the pleasure of caring for you each and every day. You all have brightened my life, and I could not be more thankful.
Love,
Your Toddler Room teacher
