Hey friends,
When in high school, you never really know how it is going to turn out with your friends when you go off to college. Will you stay as close? Will you lose contact completely? Or maybe will your friends replace you with new college friends? I'm not going to lie, all of those thoughts crossed my mind when we left for college. But as time progressed somehow, even though we were not together and were hours apart, we became closer. We stayed best friends. Our group chat stayed lit and we were still always there for eachother, even if not physically with each other.
College is much different than high school, it is harder, stranger, and you change as a person when you go to college. Even though that has happened, we have still somehow also carried the same traditions we used to do like watching Disney movies all night while at sleep overs- Something I personally hope never changes.
When college starts again, we will keep eachother updated on the experiences we have, the professors we hate and the people who we hate. We send random gifs back and forth, ask each other to like our Instagram pictures, we find any excuse to talk to eachother basically. Although we love college, we count down the days till we get to see each other.
A lot has changed though since we were freshman in college, now the distance is greater, we may stay at college over some breaks, or we end up somehow not seeing eachother because we work crazy hours, you are all still my best friends, my hometown friends. We watched eachother grow up and still get to see eachother bloom into amazing adults.
How many people can say they have been friends with someone since Middle School at our age? Not many. As the years progress we share more memories that solidify that we will probably all be friends and nothing can change that.
A quote that reminds me of our friendship is, "I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let's face it, friends make life a lot more fun." said by Charles R Swindoll. I have become the person I am because I have you guys in my life. You are there for the lows and highs, the laugher and tears, and you stayed my friends through the awkward years. I would not be where I am without you guys in my life. Thank you for being my second family and only slightly judging me when I do weird things.
Love you long time,
Megan
