Hey guys,
If you're reading this letter, it's because I want you to know how awesome you are. Yes; this is me finally admitting, in writing, that I think you are great. Don't rub it in.
I don't like to get mushy or emotional (even though we both know that happens way too often for my liking), but I think it is about time I said my fair share of thank yous for all that you have done for me.
Thank you for putting up with me and all of my nonsense. I know that I am not someone who is easy to handle. You have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly from me, and yet you still have not left my side. You are practically family; you're the brother I've never had (except better because I don't have to worry about cleaning up after you or sharing a bathroom). I know I can always count on you to have my back, and for that, I am forever grateful.
Thank you for accepting my weirdness. We all know by now that I am not like most people - I can sometimes seem as though I came from a completely different planet. Despite my randomness, you have still remained my friend and have even felt open enough to showcase how odd you can be, too. I'm glad that I have someone I can completely be myself around without judgement, and that's all thanks to you.
Thank you for being chivalrous. You are always extremely kind to me (even when I may pick on you), and despite our jokes and shenanigans, you always manage to maintain your gentleman status. You serve as a constant reminder that there are still great guys out there, and I can only hope that one day I'll end up with one that's at least half as awesome as you.
Thank you for your support. You're always cheering for me as I run towards my goals, and you're always there to catch me when I fall. You always are a blast to be around, and even when I may be super annoying, I know that deep down you'll always be there.
Plus, you give the best hugs.
That's a good thing for me and a bad thing for you, buddy, because I'll be asking for your hugs for the rest of your lifetime.
Thank you for not just being a fair-weather friend, but an OMIGOSH-THERE'S-BEEN-A-NATURAL-DISASTER-AND-THE-WORLD-IS-FLOODING-WITH-YOUR-TEARS weather friend too. You have been there to listen to me go on about my problems, from school stress to guy problems, and you have only greeted me with the best advice. You have never made me feel bad for being down in the dumps; you have only made me feel capable of overcoming the hard times. Call me Patrick Star; you are my rock.
Thank you for respecting me. Despite us being friends, we are different in many ways, and you have never made me feel insignificant or wrong based on our contrasting views and traits. You have accepted me for who I am and support all of my endeavors- even if they don't follow the path of your own. I hope to become just as accepting; it is truly admirable.
Thank you for your sense of humor. Whenever we hang out, I don't even have the slightest worry that I will have a dull time. We are able to joke about anything without taking offense, and I appreciate that.
I also want to thank you for putting up with my obnoxious laugh. That's a hard thing to accomplish but you've done it time and time again.
Lastly, thank you for being you. You are one of the best people I have ever come to know. Your optimism is inspiring, and your open-mindedness makes me want to be a better person. You are incredibly talented and yet perfectly humble whilst still having just the right amount of confidence. You never hesitate to put a smile on my face, or make me feel beautiful, and you are just an all around amazing human being. You remind me of how lucky I am to have someone like you in my life, and I can only hope to make just as great of an impact on others as you have made on me.
From now on, I hope that through every joke and jab I throw your way, you see that I truly appreciate you and your presence. I am not always good at expressing that (you know how awkward I can get when it comes to expressing anything other than laughter and hunger), but I want you to know that your effort doesn't go unnoticed. You have helped shape me into who I am today, and I can't wait to see where we'll be in the coming years.
So thanks, kid. You are the second best.
Who's the first?
Me. Because I sent you this letter. So, you're welcome ;)
