Almost every sorority girl is lucky enough to get a big sister. If you’re one of the ones with Bigs who are way too fab, then you’ll understand me. If someone told me that my Big and I would be best friends/twins, I would have laughed. However, now, I cannot imagine anyone else in college who mirrors my personality or who I would rather argue about nonsense with.
My fab Big,
I cannot begin to thank you enough for all that you’ve done for me. From making the posters that fit me perfectly to cheering me up after being homesick, you’ve been there for me nonstop. I still remember Big/Little week. Every day, I saw stuff and posters that fit me perfectly. I kept thinking, how could I be so lucky to be paired with someone who gets me perfectly? I knew I would love my Big, but I did not know how great of a friendship was ahead of me.
I think back to reveal and the time after, and college only got better. Every day, I looked forward to laughing about something stupid with you, and I was always happier about my college life because I had my best friend with me at all times. I cannot think of a time when you were not there to pick me up from a mental breakdown because of all of the stress I had going on from classes. I don’t remember a time where something rough was going on and we did not find the light in it. Somehow, you always manage to find the best of every situation and I appreciate that so much.
Some of my best memories from first semester are from times spent with you. Though the holidays are meant to see and hang out with family and friends, I still miss seeing your face and our dinner dates all the time. I miss the random “let’s get food” or “wanna meet in the library and attempt to study?” texts. Most of all, I miss laughing and being silly with my best friend.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Thank you for the countless messages spent debating about Harry Styles’ perfect hairstyle with me. (Even the time when I started crying when “History” by One Direction was released). Thank you for helping me understand to make the best out of whatever happens. Thank for always reminding me to be confident and positive. Thank you for being my best friend.
Thank you for teaching me what it means to be a sister.
I can only hope I can be at least half as good as a Big to my Little as you are to me. Our phamily is the best and, I couldn’t be more thankful for it.
Love you more than my love for 1D/Strbx/the Rebs.
I can’t wait to see you in a few weeks and laugh about nonsensical stuff again, together.
Love,
Your Little
