Hey you,

You're the person who wants it all. You try to squeeze in work, school, a social life, and still want to give more. You always want to give everything you can. You have the highest standard of anyone you know. You're a hard worker, and don't mind having days planned from start to finish. You try to remember towards bigger and better goals. Despite the long days and constant planning, you would (almost) never change anything about working so hard.

No one ever knows how hard you try. Most of the time, you don't mind. You don't work for attention. But sometimes, you just wish that others understood the effort that you put in every day. You wish they would see the way you think and would

Sometimes you're criticized for the hard work you do. People choose to look at your efforts as an ego trip. "Do you think you're better than anyone else?" No. They don't understand the pressure that you put on yourself. The need to succeed. The drive to be a part of something greater than yourself and give everything you have to the world.

You won't always meet your high expectations. This reality hurts more than most people understand. In fact, it might feel like you fall short more often than you succeed, but you can't see what the rest of the world sees. You push hard for your family and your friends. You push hard for the little voice that knows you are capable of great things.

People don't say it enough, but they see how great you are. You deserve to see it, too.

You deserve to know that it matters.

It matters that you stay hopeful when nothing is going right. You might not see it, but those around you appreciate your sunny outlook. They are inspired by your determination and look to you as a leader.

It matters that you see the bigger picture and aren't afraid to fight for it. You have big ideas and great talent to contribute to the outside world. Be confident in your endeavors and never let others bring you down.

It's okay if it didn't go according to plan. It doesn't have to be perfect to be excellent. If you gave your all, you deserve to be proud of your work. Learn from your mistakes and you will certainly continue to move forward.

Keep giving it your all. Do it for you. Don't be afraid to love every part of yourself. Look for the silver linings and continue to push yourself for higher things. Don't be afraid to cut yourself some slack and take some time to celebrate your success. Trust me, you've earned it.

Life is a big, hectic, crazy mess, but you are doing incredible things. Don't forget that this matters. Your efforts are worthwhile and you deserve to know it!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
